Albo reassures creatives, Bluesfest liquidator points to a grim outlook & Sydney Queer venue forced to close | Music News

OzInDi Group began as an independent Australian radio station built to support and promote local musicians. But as the platform grew, we realised something important: discovery can no longer be limited to radio in the car.
Australian independent artists, filmmakers, musicians, performers, and creatives need more spaces where their work can be seen, heard, understood, and discovered without being buried by algorithms, advertising, paywalls, or platforms that no longer properly serve independent creators.
That is why we are now building the OzInDi Entertainment Network — a new video streaming platform designed specifically for Australian independent creative content.
Backed by our own proprietary-designed 4K media streaming service, OzInDi Entertainment Network gives creatives a dedicated place to showcase deeper, more meaningful work. The focus is on cinematic, documentary-style, performance-based, and artist-led content that helps audiences connect with who artists are, what they create, and why their work matters.
The OzInDi video player is already live inside the OzInDi iOS app, and we are currently beta testing the platform over the next three months. Our Android TV app is scheduled for release on June 23, 2026, bringing Australian independent creative content to the big screen.
OzInDi Entertainment Network is intended to be free for Australian creatives to host their content indefinitely. We have currently absorbed the platform and streaming costs for the next year so we can test, grow, and refine the service properly. We believe this is one way we can play our part in helping Australia’s creative industries be seen, supported, and discovered.
All content submitted to the network will go through our internal creative team for review and selection. This allows us to keep the standard of the platform high, while also creating anopportunity for filmmakers, musicians, artists, and creative teams to better understand what it takes to produce work for larger commercial streaming platforms, broadcasters, and industry-level opportunities.
At this stage, we are currently accepting standalone music videos however due to APRA and PPCA licensing roadblocks around music video streaming, they might be removed in the future.
OzInDi Entertainment Network is being built as a non-ad-based creative platform. Like the OzInDi iOS app, no money is currently made from the platform, no user information is collected for commercial purposes, and no revenue is earned from the videos, stories, performances, or hard work of the creatives featured on the network.
The purpose of the platform is discovery, support, and visibility — not monetising independent artists’ content. Our goal is to create a space where Australian creatives can have their work seen in a high-quality environment without their content being hidden behind paywalls, interrupted by ads, or used as another product inside an algorithm-driven system.
