Content Submission, Hosting and Creator Rights
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This page explains how content submissions, creator ownership, hosting permissions, technical delivery, selection, privacy, music-video testing, withdrawal and scam protection operate through the OzInDi Entertainment Network.
About the Network
The OzInDi Entertainment Network is a curated discovery platform for Australian independent creatives.
The Network has been developed to help audiences discover the work of Australian filmmakers, musicians, performers, dancers, theatre makers, visual artists and other creative storytellers through professionally presented video content.
OzInDi is currently focused on discovery, visibility, exhibition and creative development. The Network is not currently operated as:
- a paid distribution marketplace;
- an advertising platform;
- a subscription or paywall service;
- a pay-per-view platform; or
- a royalty-generating video marketplace.
Free Submission and Hosting
There is no fee for Australian creatives to submit eligible content for consideration.
There is also no fee to have approved content hosted on the OzInDi Entertainment Network.
OzInDi Radio Australia and the OzInDi Entertainment Network will never ask artists, filmmakers, managers, creative teams or representatives to pay for radio play, content hosting, video placement, submission review or inclusion on the Network.
Submission does not guarantee that content will be accepted.
Current Content Eligibility
OzInDi is currently considering recent Australian content produced, completed or first released from January 2024 onward.
Work that was already publicly released or widely circulated before January 2024 is not currently being considered for the main entertainment platform.
Meeting this date requirement does not guarantee selection. Every project is reviewed for creative suitability, technical quality, rights clearance, audience relevance and alignment with the Network.
Types of Content We Consider
Content considered by OzInDi may include:
- independent films;
- documentaries and other non-fiction work;
- episodic series;
- music videos;
- live music sessions;
- artist interviews and profiles;
- theatre and recorded performance;
- dance and spoken-word performance;
- visual art and exhibition stories; and
- other professionally produced content documenting Australian creative culture.
OzInDi is a curated platform. It is not intended for general vlogging, spam, direct advertising, sales funnels or low-context promotional uploads.
No Current Monetisation of Submitted Content
OzInDi does not currently earn advertising, subscription, pay-per-view or commercial audience-data revenue from creator-submitted videos.
The Network will not sell creator-submitted content, place it behind an audience paywall or otherwise commercially exploit it without a separate written agreement from the relevant creator or rights holder.
If the Network’s funding, revenue, distribution or commercial model changes, the applicable arrangements will be reviewed and communicated to participating creators.
A separate written agreement may be required before creator content is used as part of any future paid, sponsored, commissioned or commercially funded activity.
A Sale-Free Discovery Platform
OzInDi is intended to showcase creative work—not direct sales material.
Content may be declined or removed if its primary purpose is to sell:
- tickets;
- merchandise;
- products;
- paid services;
- courses;
- subscriptions; or
- other commercial items.
Content may naturally mention an artist, project, performance, release, exhibition, production, organisation or creative journey where it is relevant to the story.
However, the Network is not intended to host advertisements, infomercials, product demonstrations, sales presentations or other predominantly commercial promotions.
Creator Ownership — Non-Exclusive Content
This section applies to independently created content submitted to OzInDi for ordinary hosting or exhibition that was produced outside the scope of an OzInDi funding, commissioning, development or production agreement.
Submitting this content does not transfer ownership of its copyright, intellectual property or creative rights to OzInDi.
Creators and their authorised rights holders retain ownership of their work. Any permission granted to OzInDi to host, encode, stream, display or promote approved content is non-exclusive unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Creators remain free to use, license, sell, distribute, exhibit or submit the same content elsewhere, subject to any existing agreements or third-party rights affecting the work.
These non-exclusive conditions do not apply to content commissioned or funded as an OzInDi Original Series. Funded or commissioned OzInDi Original productions are governed by separate written agreements, which may include exclusive Network exhibition rights for an agreed period.
Funded OzInDi Original Series and Exclusive Network Rights
Different conditions apply to an OzInDi Original Series funded through an OzInDi funding agreement developed with a participating guild, screen organisation, funding body or other approved industry partner.
These conditions apply only to projects formally selected and funded through one of these agreements. They do not automatically apply to independently funded content submitted to OzInDi for ordinary hosting or exhibition.
1. Exclusive Network Release
A funded OzInDi Original Series will be produced specifically for exclusive release through the OzInDi Entertainment Network.
During the agreed exclusivity period, the completed series and its full episodes must not be made available through another public platform, broadcaster, streaming service, connected-TV service, video-sharing website, social-media platform, on-demand service or other public exhibition service.
The production team and rights holders must not sell, license, upload, broadcast, stream or otherwise authorise the full series or individual full episodes for public availability elsewhere during this period unless OzInDi provides prior written approval.
This exclusivity allows OzInDi and its funding partners to invest in original Australian production while establishing the series as content created specifically for the Network and its audiences.
2. Three-Year Exclusivity Period
Unless the signed funding and production agreement specifies a different period, the exclusive Network term will continue for **three years from the official launch date** of the series.
For this purpose, the official launch date will generally be the date on which the first completed episode becomes publicly available through the OzInDi Entertainment Network.
The exclusivity period may be shortened, extended or otherwise varied only through a written agreement signed or formally accepted by both OzInDi and the authorised producer or rights holder.
At the end of the exclusivity period:
- the exclusive Network restriction will end;
- the producer and rights holders may seek other exhibition or distribution opportunities;
- the parties may agree to extend the exclusive term;
- the parties may agree that the series will remain available through OzInDi on a non-exclusive basis; or
- OzInDi may remove the series if no continued hosting arrangement is agreed.
3. Written Funding and Production Agreement
Every funded OzInDi Original Series will be governed by a separate written agreement.
No project will be treated as funded or exclusively commissioned merely because a concept has been submitted, discussed, shortlisted or reviewed.
The written agreement will identify matters including:
- the participating parties;
- the approved concept and production scope;
- the funding contribution;
- payment stages and production milestones;
- the production schedule;
- delivery dates;
- episode numbers and expected durations;
- technical-delivery requirements;
- ownership of underlying intellectual property;
- OzInDi’s exclusive exhibition and promotional rights;
- the commencement and duration of exclusivity;
- approved platforms and territories;
- credits and funding acknowledgements;
- reporting and approval requirements;
- rights-clearance obligations;
- circumstances allowing suspension or termination;
- treatment of unspent or incorrectly used funding;
- what occurs if the production is not completed;
- permitted promotional, industry or festival use; and
- the process for varying the agreement.
The signed agreement will take priority if its terms differ from this general website explanation.
4. Creator Ownership
Unless the written agreement expressly states otherwise, creators and producers will retain ownership of their underlying intellectual property.
The exclusive arrangement gives OzInDi the contractual right to exhibit and make the funded series available during the agreed term. It does not automatically transfer complete ownership of the production, its underlying concept or the creators’ other intellectual property to OzInDi.
The producer must maintain a clear chain of title and obtain all rights, contracts, releases and permissions needed to produce and exclusively exhibit the series through the Network.
5. Promotional and Industry Use
OzInDi may use approved trailers, excerpts, still images, artwork, titles, credits, interviews and behind-the-scenes material to promote the series, the Network and the relevant funding partnership.
The producer may use approved excerpts, stills and trailers for portfolios, professional promotion, funding reports and industry presentations where permitted by the written agreement.
Full episodes must not be publicly uploaded or exhibited elsewhere during the exclusive term.
Festival screenings, educational screenings, private industry presentations, awards submissions, sales-market activity or other special exhibitions may only occur where:
- they are expressly permitted by the signed agreement; or
- OzInDi and the producer approve them in writing beforehand.
Any authorised exception will not otherwise end the exclusive Network term unless both parties agree in writing.
6. Funding and Partner Acknowledgement
Each funded series must display the approved OzInDi Original branding and any credits or acknowledgements required by the participating guild, screen organisation, funding body or industry partner.
The wording, positioning and duration of these acknowledgements will be confirmed in the relevant production agreement and delivery specifications.
7. Failure to Meet the Agreement
If a producer or rights holder makes the funded series available on another platform without approval during the exclusive term, OzInDi may exercise the rights provided in the signed agreement.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- requesting immediate removal from the unauthorised platform;
- suspending outstanding funding payments;
- withholding Network release;
- requiring corrective action;
- terminating the funding or production agreement;
- seeking repayment of funding where the agreement permits it; or
- exercising another contractual or legal remedy.
OzInDi will seek to address concerns directly with the producer where reasonably possible before taking formal action.
Plain-English Summary
A series funded as an OzInDi Original through one of our guild, screen or industry partnerships is created for exclusive release on the OzInDi Entertainment Network. Unless the signed agreement says otherwise, it cannot be publicly shown on another platform for three years from the date the series launches on OzInDi. Every funded production will have a written agreement setting out its funding, ownership, delivery and exclusive-release conditions.
Permission to Host Approved Content
If submitted content is approved for hosting, the creator or authorised rights holder grants OzInDi a limited, non-exclusive and royalty-free licence to:
- receive and store the approved files;
- encode, transcode and compress the content;
- create versions suitable for supported devices;
- stream and display the content;
- make it available through the OzInDi Entertainment Network;
- make it available through OzInDi websites and applications;
- make it available through supported connected-TV platforms; and
- use approved titles, descriptions, artwork, trailers, clips and credits to present and promote the content.
This permission exists only so OzInDi can technically prepare, host, exhibit and promote approved content through the Network.
It does not transfer ownership to OzInDi or prevent the creator from using or licensing the content elsewhere.
Where appropriate, the approved hosting arrangement may be recorded in a separate written content licence or release.
Creator Upload Portal
Approved or invited content is uploaded through the OzInDi creator upload process.
Creators should not send large master files unless OzInDi has requested them.
An initial submission or enquiry should generally include:
- the project title;
- a short description or synopsis;
- the content format;
- the production or completion date;
- the first public release date, if applicable;
- relevant creator and production credits;
- a private viewing link;
- confirmation that the submitter controls the necessary rights; and
- appropriate contact information.
OzInDi hosts and delivers approved content through its own Network presentation and streaming workflow rather than relying on a public YouTube upload as the primary Network version.
Preferred Master Files
For approved content, creators should provide the highest-quality final master reasonably available.
Where possible, the preferred delivery is:
- 4K resolution;
- a ProRes master; or
- a high-quality HEVC/H.265 export.
Creators should provide a clean final master rather than a heavily compressed web download wherever possible.
OzInDi may encode, transcode, compress or create additional playback versions so the content can stream correctly across supported websites, mobile applications and television platforms.
Final technical requirements will be confirmed with the creator before delivery.
Captions, Audio and Supporting Material
Depending on the project, OzInDi may request:
- an English SRT caption file;
- a properly mixed audio master;
- a synopsis;
- cast and crew credits;
- key artwork;
- thumbnails;
- promotional stills;
- music cue information;
- classification or content-warning information; and
- relevant rights or clearance documentation.
The creator is responsible for ensuring that supplied information is accurate.
Rights Clearance and Submitter Responsibility
The person or organisation submitting content must have the legal authority to submit it.
The submitter is responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, licences, releases and clearances relating to the work.
This may include permission relating to:
- music and sound recordings;
- compositions and publishing;
- images and photography;
- archival footage;
- artwork;
- locations;
- performers;
- interview participants;
- brands and trademarks;
- writers and directors;
- collaborators;
- production companies; and
- other third-party material included in the content.
If a work contains material owned or controlled by another party, the submitter must ensure that the material may legally be hosted, streamed and promoted by OzInDi.
OzInDi may request written confirmation or supporting documentation before approving or publishing content.
Music Videos During the Beta Phase
OzInDi is currently considering music videos during the Network’s beta and development phase.
OzInDi is continuing to examine how music-video streaming fits within applicable APRA AMCOS, PPCA and other music-licensing arrangements for this type of independent discovery platform.
Music videos may be considered for beta testing where the relevant rights and licensing position allow it.
Music-video availability may remain subject to:
- licensing review;
- reporting requirements;
- additional rights clearance;
- replacement;
- restricted availability; or
- removal from the platform.
If it is determined that a music video is not covered by the relevant licensing arrangements—or if additional permissions are required—OzInDi may decline, restrict or remove that video.
Submitting a music video confirms that the submitter understands that its availability may be affected by future licensing requirements.
Curated Selection
Every submission is reviewed by the OzInDi creative team, selection committee or authorised reviewers.
Submission does not guarantee:
- selection;
- publication;
- promotion;
- ongoing hosting;
- funding;
- commissioning;
- placement on a particular app or channel; or
- acceptance into a future production program.
OzInDi may consider:
- creative suitability;
- production quality;
- technical quality;
- rights and clearance status;
- completion or release date;
- audience relevance;
- accessibility;
- platform direction; and
- overall Network standards.
The curated review process is intended to maintain a professional platform and help creators understand the preparation required for larger streaming services, broadcasters and other industry opportunities.
Content Standards
OzInDi may decline or remove content that is:
- unlawful;
- defamatory;
- discriminatory or hateful;
- exploitative or unsafe;
- misleading;
- rights-infringing;
- incomplete;
- technically unsuitable;
- excessively advertorial;
- primarily sales-focused;
- inconsistent with the Network’s purpose; or
- otherwise unsuitable for the platform.
Editorial acceptance remains at OzInDi’s discretion, subject to any separate written agreement.
Withdrawal and Takedown Requests
Creators and authorised rights holders may request the removal of their content from the OzInDi Entertainment Network.
OzInDi will make reasonable efforts to verify the request and remove the content from active availability within a reasonable period.
Some files may remain temporarily in protected backups or technical systems until those systems complete their normal deletion cycle.
OzInDi may also restrict or remove content if concerns arise relating to:
- ownership or rights;
- music licensing;
- legal compliance;
- safety;
- technical performance;
- platform changes;
- content standards; or
- continued suitability for the Network.
Takedown requests can be sent to:
manager@ozindiradio.com.au
Privacy and Audience Information
OzInDi does not require audience accounts and does not intentionally collect or maintain personal viewing profiles.
Saved tracks, favourites and similar app preferences are stored locally on the user’s device. OzInDi does not access or store that locally saved information.
The Network is not designed to monetise audience information or creator data through advertising targeting, commercial resale or behavioural profiling.
Technical service providers may process limited information required to deliver websites, applications, video streams or radio services under their own privacy policies.
Contact information voluntarily provided during a submission is used only for:
- communication;
- submission review;
- rights confirmation;
- publishing coordination;
- technical delivery;
- takedown administration; and
- related project management.
Please see the OzInDi Entertainment Network Privacy Policy for complete information about our privacy practices.
Scam and Impersonation Warning
If anyone claiming to represent OzInDi requests payment for radio play, video hosting, content placement, submission review or guaranteed inclusion, the request is not consistent with OzInDi’s policy and should be treated as suspicious.**
Do not pay an invoice, transfer money or provide sensitive information to anyone claiming to offer paid placement on behalf of OzInDi.
Verify suspicious requests through an official OzInDi email address:
