With two decades of experience in the music industry, Joel Devereux is a seasoned professional whose passion for music has shaped his impressive career. For the past 15 years, Joel has excelled in commercial radio and record labels, where he honed his skills in broadcasting, music production, and artist development. His extensive knowledge and dedication to the craft have earned him a reputation as a respected figure in the industry.
Seeing the limitations in current community radio, Joel was inspired to create a platform that better served independent Australian artists. This vision led to the founding of OzInDi Radio Australia, a station dedicated to showcasing the diverse and vibrant sounds of Australian music. Teaming up with Barry Koch, Joel built a station that champions new and emerging artists, providing a vital outlet for their music to reach a wider audience.
Prior to OzInDi Radio Australia, Joel and Barry co-hosted FNQ Originals, the biggest community radio show in North Queensland for three years. During this time, they played a pivotal role in supporting local musicians, offering them a platform to share their music and helping to nurture the regional music scene. Through OzInDi Radio Australia, Joel continues to make a significant impact on the Australian music landscape.
