Netgigs and Government Funding | Music News
With live music on halt, music fans and artists have turned to Instagram live videos to watch and create live music. Now, a new pay-per-view service has been created, designed to put more money into the pockets of the artists while they are unable to tour. The service, called Netgigs, promises to give the artists 60-80% of the pay-per-view revenue, as well as quality production equipment. We discuss if this is viable, and if it is indeed the “future of live music” as Netgigs promotes.
In the second part of the music news, we look at Government funding of music and the arts – or rather the lack of.
